Asmoil 100% Synthetic lubricants.

What is everyone running for drain intervals? Are you extending them at all or running the factory rec. change intervals?
We have been going 25k without any negative reports from Blackstone labs.

Drain intervals

Just went back to Amsoil on my newest diesel.

On my previous diesels (Cummins) I changed filter every 3000 miles, oil at 6000.

Course, I used severe service intervals since I did a lot of short trips with the vehicle.

I suppose if I had been doing more over the road type driving, I would have stretched out the changes to 5000 and 10000.

Running 7,000 on Amsoil Syn oil and filter. I towed the 5er about 15-20 trips of varying lengths this season. My off-season will not be much more than 7,000 miles so I'll probably just stick with that all year long.

Just replaced trans. fluid/filter and diff. fluid at 21k. A bit early but wanted to do it now, at the end of my first season pulling with the new truck rather than wait til 28k.

Did Blakstone oil analysis at 14k and 21k sample is in the lab now.

What intervals are others that tow doing for their trans/diffs?

CC I'm running Amsoil in my truck with what is called a bypass filter. The normal oil filter catches particles down to 15 micron say and the bypass filter will filter to 5 microns. This keeps the oil extra clean and being synthetic theoretically it will last forever. Well we don't take this for granted so when we change the filters, say at 20K miles intervals we send a sample of the oil to a lab for testing. The lab will report back in detail the condition of your oil and recommend changing if necessary.

This is the 3rd truck I have run Amsoil in and when the crank case holds 10 to 15 qt and a dealer telling you to chang it every 5000 miles it is a real $$ saver beside being good for the engine. I find it well worth the initial cost.

Amsoil

Would you please tell me more about Amsoil. I have a 2003 Ford runs great I have changed the oil enery 5000 miles but have not towed with this truck.
I will be towing in 2006 a Sunnybrook 30RKFS Where do you get theoil and filters and I guess you change them yourselves.. More info Please

We run the 15W-40 year round with one yearly change no matter what the miles in our 2004.5 Dodge Ram. We also run a single bypass filter element. Amsoil does have a dual head adapter that attaches to the stock filter mount and allows you use both a full flow amsoil filter and bypass filter on one head. For warranty reasons I like to use a cummins approved filter in the stock location and have the bypass system completly seperate.

I had the Transmission and rear end switched to Synthetic last year. The dealer would not switch the engine because Dodge did not have any Synthetic approved.

Will the Cummins warranty be a problem?
