Kenmore washer over run

Our Kenmore washer over filled today and ran out on floor. Anyone else had this to happen? Any suggestions about what I can do. Thanks and God bless

Some washer drains have a built-in screen that needs to be cleaned regularly. I suppose that if the drain were stopped up, the washer could overflow, as it does fill several times during wash/rinse cycles?????????????

FWIW!

This happened on the initial fill up. Just didn't stop running water. We cleaned up the mess and removed excess water from washer and it worked fine rest of cycles.

The tube that fills with water to sence the water level may have lint or something in it.
If you take it outside, lay it on its side, or better yet remove the top, you will see the tube I am refering to.
Or most likely, it may have a loose or bad wire plug connection.
