Trav'ler SK-3005 for DirectTV

Anyone who had the Winegard Trav'ler Satellite option installed and are using a HD DVR did you have to do anything special so you could watch one program and record another at the same time? Does it take a second coax cable from the satellite to the receiver? If it takes an extra coax I would like to have it installed at the factory when they build it.

Yes it does require two coax cables for any DVR or it will constantly be looking for the second input feed. I tried everything possible last year in Florida and finally Direct told me it would not work without two inputs to the DVR.

portable satellites

The Winegard Carryout is similar in hookups--it requires 2 RG-6 cables and a 12-volt power source for HD reception.

I have one on DTV and it works flawlessly. The larger open air dish is VERY good in storms and through mild trees. Way better than my dome was. And once you see HDTV you will never go back...assuming you have a good TV.
