Steps

Has anyone ever had the main step pivot mounting break? We are full timers and were stoped at a state park in New Mexico. When we left, I put up the steps with no problems. When we lowered it at the next Park, we noticed it saging on the rear side. When I looked, the mounting arm just above the pivot pin, was broken almost all the way through. At first I thought the pin might have seezed up, but it moves freely. At no time has there ever been any resistance when putting the step up. There is no rust associated with the break and we didn't hit anything as there is no other damage to the step.

This is on a 2006 model 36 rs3. I think the steps should last a little longer that 3 years. Anyone else have this problem? Being it is out of warranty, do you think DRV would replace them?

First time I have heard of any problem of this type with any step. As to the warranty, just contact them and see what they say. It really is a minor problem, maybe you can get a welder to fix it? Or, maybe, if you don't have the 4-step entry, this would be the time to put one in.

We had something similar happen, and I fixed with a little welding.
It happend because we had a guest couple stay with us overnight, they were both a few hundred pounds each heavier than I am.....
That was the problem....
