The 2012 has a different (hopefully less troublesome) motor and way better mileage too.
Cab still comes off.

In looking up the 2011 GCWR for Longhorns, I can't find a 3.42 axle rating listed at more than 17000 GCWR? Am I missing something?

You are not missing anything. I was planning to change my gears to 4:10 but after talking to a high up at Chrysler he said to leave it if I was happy with the performance. He said "it can't hurt it's self".

If you look at the 3:42 ratings for the 13's and 14's I think Chrysler realized the tow ratings were way too low. I understand things have changed but not that much.

My truck is exactly the same as the 30K towing except for the gear ratio. With 6 speeds it is a no brainer.

With all that said I will likely get the 4:10's when I buy a 14 with air ride suspension.

I'm curious, do the newer diesel PU's require the urea like the big trucks? Seems like that would cut into the mileage cost quite a bit.

I use about 1 gal each 1000-1200 miles. GMC/Chevy have 5.3 gal tank.
$13 for 2.5 gal. I hear it's $2.70/gal at the truck stops.

Thanks. I've seen the pumps of course but I had no idea how much was used by the vehicle. I suppose the wost case scenario would be using it almost on a 1 for 1 basis with fuel. That would be VERY pricey.

We have a 2013 chev silveraldo duramax 4X4 dually long bed pulling a 2013 38' mobile suite. The only addition to the truck was firestone Riderite airbags. Made all the differance to the ride. Also have the Curt hitch at the mid level. So far no issues. We have traveled close to 5000 miles so far with only one steep drop where I was nervous.

Hunter11,
Just that it is a standard item on the Elites tells you a lot about the Moryde IS.
Morryde installs the IS themselves, and you can tell them what rise you want-- they will use the correct spacers to give you the clearance you need.
I would go for the IS in a heartbeat if ordering new.

We have a 2012 diesel 3500 King Ranch dually ,long bed, crew cab, pulling a 2006 TK3 Mobile Suite. It works excellent with no changes to truck or 5th wheel. Mileage is very good also.

New Truck Shopping

What is your mileage with the 2012 F350 ?

I have a 2011 King Ranch F350 Diesel SRW/Short Box. I get an average 10.5 MPG.
