Having been in Ft. Stockton myself before, where the heck do you go for dinner there?!?!?!

We pass through or stop there overnight while traveling between San Antonio to Tucson more than once a year.

Normally we stay at the campground South of I-10 and on highway 285. A bit desolate but inexpensive with Passport America. It's a bigger place than Van Horn TX. where we have overnighted before.

If you do stay at Van Horn, beware of the large campground on the South side of I-10 that reopened recently(recalled the name, it's Mountain View Campground). The shower area had some nasty plumbing problems (very strong sewage odor) and the rate was rather high. Not many 50 amp spots either and they are scattered around instead of being in any kind of order.

Van Horn, TX

Don't forget Chuy's in Van Horn--full of NFL memorabilia and one of Maddens' favorite stops when he was broadcasting. And good Mexican food also.
