VIN Number

We are getting ready to sell our 2004 Mobile Suite because as age comes around we are having trouble travelling. Trying to find an alternate place of the VIn Number. The silver sign on the five wheel has long since faded away. Is there another place that they would have put the VIN so the sun would not fad it? My husband thinks that we would have the prove the VIN matches the bill of sale. As usual you can't reach the company so that you might be able to help

Thanks for all the years you have kept us informed. You have been the best help.

Have you looked inside the cabinet door where all your controls are?

State license registration lists your VIN also.

I would have to look for to be positive but I know the metal is stamped somewhere like in the area of the hitch. I don't think it is on the hitch but the RV frame at the hitch placement.

Of course my Mobile Suits is 12 years newer and many employees later could have stamped a difference location.

Look for 6 numbers stamped into the side of the pin box frame.

Thanks for your help. We are looking for something stamped into the unit like your vehicles. Have looked in the three places you suggested but no luck yet. We have the number on all the paperwork but my husband thinks someone might think if we don't match it to the unit someone may think it might be different unit. Just trying to cover all our bases.

On the side of the frame mount where the pinbox attaches.

Besides the decals on my '15, the last 4 of the VIN are stamped on the permanent part of the pinbox, door side, just to rear of Morryde plate. If you have the straight pin box from factory, then it ought to be there somewhere. I remember vaguely that it was at same area on previous '05.

Thank you Wingnut. It was just as you said. On the pin box, door side. We were looking for more numbers than four. My husband will sleep much better tonight.

Having mixed feeling about having to give up RVing, but we are in our 80s and driving is just getting to hard. With all the traffic now we just don't want to make a mistake and have an accident. See so many now as it is.

Thank you all again for your help.

bmarshman,
Most times, the DRVs are noted by last 4 of VIN--they were numbered consecutively from beginning to when Thor bought them, I believe. If the 4 numbers you found match the last four on title/registration, then you have the rest of them.

Cummins, what do you mean, "NOT on the PINBOX"?

Red is PinBox, blue is PinBox support. Blue is pointing to VIN#.

That plate is removable on our trailer and in theory could be bolted onto any similar trailer. Stupid place for a full ID VIN.

On the pin box frame itself the last 6 of the VIN is stamped into the steel on ours along with the removable plate.

Also on ours there is a Lippert label under the door on the frame with the build info which includes the last 6 of the VIN.

SIR you are correct!!! I forgot that is a structural plate. Mine is stamped on door side right behind the plate with "7814".

Being a 2004 model, the labels in the pics are probably long gone. Best he can do is the 4 last of VIN as shown above. But, somewhere on the actual frame, I'll bet there is a complete VIN number stamped, but covered by structure...
I believe they went to last 6 when Thor took over.

Don't know where you live, but in Kansas we have state troopers that check VIN's. They have guides for auto's....maybe RV's as well.
