Pulling with an F450?

Hi Folks,
I would be interested in hearing from folks that have the new F450. How do you like it? How is the power? Most importantly, what are you getting for fuel mileage towing and solo?
Thanks in advance.

F450

retirementbound

We traded our old Dodge 3500 ext cab with a V10 in on the F450 in October. It is a crew cab, long bed, Lariat package, auto trans, 4x4 with 4:88 gears.

Our first pull of our 05 36TK3 was from KC to Dallas when we only had 135 miles on it. We have since pulled it from Dallas to Lake Whitney, Tx, on to San Benito and back to Lake Whitney then down to Port Aransas, Tx. We now have 10500 miles on the truck with approx 2000+ towing.

Pulling with the 450 is great. Power is ample, shifting is smooth, suspension handles our pin weight with ease, engine noise almost non existent, ride and comfort unmatchable in the large cab. The Ford factory brake control works much better than the Prodigy did on the Dodge.

We had one occasion where another vehicle made a quick dumb move and we had to hit the brakes hard while in Ft Worth on I35. We felt in full control and did not have a pucker effect like we always felt in the Dodge.
