RE3 Owners

Are there any 08/09 RE3 owners in the RGV?

Penne and I, and friends who also have a TK3, are talking about trading for new DRV's and would like to see the the new RE rear window layout in person. Neither of us cared for the old style windows and have not found a dealer who has one of the new style in stock.

We both really like our TK3 kitchens and want the side bath option but also like the look of the RE rear window layout in the brochures. We have talked to a dealer who advised we can order a 36TK3SB and have the RE3 living room installed in place of the standard TK living room.

If one of you have a RE and would not mind showing it off, let me know and we will set up a get-to-gether to look at it. Our friends are in Los Fresnos and we are currently in the Corpus area but will be in the valley in Feb.

Thanks

Keith and Penne, Jon and MJ

I don't have one of the RE's but did see a Select in person at Wheels RV in Springdale, AR. It was really nice and that combination of side bath and rear entertainment is a great idea. I was just wondering if you happened to ask the salesman about the constant up & down motion in the rear end. Is there anything built in to stabilize the flat screen tv?

I just looked at the floorplan of the new RE3 at the DRV site and if you look close you can see that Flat screen TV goes down on the cabinet when not in use. So I am sure it will be safe in travel.

I have the first 08 RE3 sold and the living room is great. The rear window sure does open up things for a RE model .....

HOWEVER; I don't see how you can get a TKSB3 with an RE living room? The couch wouldn't fit on the street side slideout.

After living in the RE3 we kinda (well DW wants, for sure) wish for the increased counter space of a TK plus the side bath with W/D in the slide is probably a better idea then the stacked W/D. More overall storage I believe.

From what I understand, you can have the best of both worlds 'cause the pop- up TV is available on ALL models so you don't loose a side window.

I would recommend a TK with the pop up option. That way you still have full couch and two recliners plus three windows in the rear as well as the counter space and SB option of the TK.

Just my 2 cents.

We went from a TK to an Island kitchen (RSSB). The upper cabinet is easier to access since it's not blocked by the countertop. All the 2009 floorplans offer the TV's on a lift as an option. At first we didn't want it and now kind of like it.

Ours is a 38' and they don't have this floorplan yet, so they labeled it as a 38TKSB. We had the island extended and eliminated the desk. I think it's got nearly as much counterspace as our TK did. David agrees.

I measured a 2009 36RS and found there is up to 18" vinyl flooring before it hits carpet. We originally were going to order a 36RSSB and have the island extended at least 12". Then we found out they had new floorplans.
