Weight Verification - Thanks!

Hi All,

I know this has been discussed a lot and I have read it all.....but, still want to make sure my numbers are correct. If anyone has the time, could you please take a look and give me a double check? Thanks in advance!

So, we have an 2018 Dutchmen 2952RLF.

Dry weight = 8950
Loaded weight = 10560
Expected Pin weight @20% = 2112lbs

Truck:

F250 - 6.2l gasser, 4x4 Fx4
GVWR = 10,000lbs
Curb weight 6456lbs

So, I did the calculation as follows:

6460(curb weight) + 400(people weight) + 2112(pin weight) + 400(misc stuff) = 9372lbs.

10000-9372 = 628lbs (undermax)

Is this correct?

Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance for ya'll giving me a quick QC.

Cheers,

dave

P.S. Looking at the Atlas brochure, it states that the Dry Hitch Weight is 1742lbs. So my 20% pin weight estimate might be a little high.

The calcs are correct--do you have the truck or looking at one?
Would be nice to get an 'as loaded to tow' weight, full of fuel.
Another thing missing is the actual rear axle weight loaded to tow + the actual pin weight. If higher than the RAWR, or 7500lbs (capacity of 2 rear tires), then you will be overweight per the specs.
If all the numbers are correct above, you are ok.

Thanks Wingnut! Very appreciated.

I have the truck. Getting the trailer in 2 weeks.

I will be getting actual numbers when we pick it up. The wife is very excited.

We've been in TT"s and this is our first 5th wheel.

I want a good pull and she wants everything. Lol. Always the weight vs. Tow vehicle compromises.

My goal is to be "in-bounds" and enjoy the ride..

More to follow when i get actuals.

Thanks for the sanity check!

The pin weight and other weights do not include any options you add on. Most actual pin weights are higher than listed by the manufacturer.

Also, the RAWR must be considered. It is as important as the GVWR and GCVWR.
