Slide out floor rotted out due to water damage

I have had a 2014 41rssb for 4 yrs and now the left side slide out floor that has front bedroom is cracking and breaking apart. Talked to a repair shop and they said it was not properly sealed. Talked to folks at drv and they said you need to recaulk the slides periodically to prevent leaks. I told him I wish someone had told me when I bought it. Plan to bring to factory to have it repaired. Has anyone else had this problem and what can you do to prevent it?

As said, re-caulking and re-taping on the slides will help. Probably you got one of the units that they missed out on a good sealing job. Been mentioned about use of Eternabond on the tops where the OEM tape is and Dicor along the bottom trim piece. Along the bottom trim piece is usually a place to check real well as water will get behind the trim and into the slide floor--may need to remove and caulk behind it to do it right.
