Haven't heard of any fix for this

I have a problem that I have not read about or heard of a fix. I have a Dometic 2 door refrigerator. One time my dear wife forced a gallon milk carton into the bottom door shelf. Well needless to say it broke a tab off that holds the shelf. It is just about 1 inch tab made of the thin plastic that covers the inside of the door. Has little strength other than its shape. Any ideas of how to go about gluing that back in or putting a tab back in to hold that bottom shelf? Any Ideas?

Try Gorilla Glue. It ain't pretty, but it is strong.

Also, there is a transparent Duct Tape on the market that would work, but again, ain't pretty.

Is it the little spring tab that holds the little "top hat" round fittings into the depression on the side of the fridge? If so then a spring clothes pin will substitute until you can get a replacement through a parts house. If it's the top hat itself I have no idea other than maybe a wooden plug carved to fit.

If it is the retention bar, just use a spring curtain rod from wallyworld. We use them in addition to the little retention barrier built ito the shelf.

I believe he's referring to the tab that acts as a catch to hold the door trays into their slots in the door. I'm going out to look at mine to see if I can offer a suggestion.

Bruce or Sandra you are correct it is the upright tab that the slot of the bottom shelf slides into. I like the idea of Gorilla glue and clear duck tape to hold it there. I am going to do something next weekend when we defrost the unit. So any other Ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
