Kitchen slide leaning

When I bought my RE3 from a private owner he pointed out that when the kitchen slide came in it would 'rub' against the curb side slide at the top. I put a small cork pad on the curb slide and never thought much about it untill I noticed the other day that I could see the white plastic on the wall above the slide when it was out. It appeared to be about and 1 or 2 lower than it should be. I also noticed that when moving the slide in and out that the wallboard on the outside of the front (nearest the fridge) flexes while it is going in or out as if the weight of the slide is on the edge of it. I have come to the conclusion that something underneath the inner edge of the slide that is supposed to hold it up has broken or come out of adjustment.

Any thoughts or experience with this?

It sounds like the roller on the front has either dropped or was never placed properly. You can go outside and peel the wiper seal away from the bottom of the slide at the notch and look at it. If there is a problem there the slide will have to be jacked up off of the roller to fix it.

Is there an obvious tilt to the bottom of the slide in relation to the rest of the opening?

Another place to look for a problem is inside the pocket door between the kitchen and living room. There is an aluminum angle piece that the weight bearing portion of the wall rides on. There is a tendency for the angle aluminum to back away from the wall and allow the plywood to rest on the roller there, crushing the wall a bit. Shine a flashlight in the gap on the kitchen side of the opening and look at the bottom to see the aluminum angle piece.

If you have warranty issue I suggest you get it taken care of ASAP. With the rate of failure of the RV industry right now I don't count on any manufacturer staying in business and that includes DT. I have not heard anything but it's a tough time for the recreation industry and no one is above the strain.

Fixing a slide roller is very easy. Just did it last week after one of our rollers popped off while extending the slide.

Just used a floor jack and a piece of wood long enough to reach from the jack to the slide support. Jacked the slide up about a half inch and slid the roller back into its bracket. Took all of 15 minutes.

It would be such a waste of time to drag a trailer back to a dealership or the factory to do this fix.

Factory no longer does service or repair. Warranty work only. Question answered in his other post about it.
