Corpus Christi Campsite?

We are considering wintering in South Texas this year and are wondering about Corpus Christi. DW says she heard it is always windy there and hates the wind. Anybody spent the winter there? How about a good RV park with WiFi, cable, etc.? Any other suggestions about warm coastal areas is also welcome.
Thanks,
Ron

Ron

All of the RGV is windy.
The warmth comes via the winds off the gulf.

Sorry

Lots of nice campgrounds

Corpus RV Parks

Corpus is a fun town. Lot to do and see your first time there. Last year January was cold and wet. We had wind but so is the Mid West in the summer. Unless you are out on the beach, the wind was not that much of a problem.

Search the web for RV Parks in Corpus. You will find all you want.

Beware, most are old and have very small sites. I would suggest you review their websites, then read reviews of the camp grounds on one of the Review sites. What you see/read on a campground web site is not always what you get when you get there but it depends on your level of expectations.

First year you may have to "take whatever you can get" until you have a chance to look around on your own to find your level of comfort and expectations. Prices range all over the place as do amenities.

we spend 2-3 months a year at Pioneer RV in Port Aransas. It's not far from the city of Port Aransas and about 15 minutes to CC. LOTS of folks are winter Texans there. It's becoming very popular and Pioneer may be selling to a developer next door who is building a "Miami Beach" community for folks who want expensive golf course homes. They won't say whether they are or not. They have wi-fi and lots of activities are close by.

The biggest problem with Corpus/Port Aransas area is the salt spray. We spent a week there after we left the Valley this year and we had to clean the windows every day so that we could see out. That same salt was all over everything else and is very corrosive. That's why we like the valley better. We're still close enough to take a day at the beach, but we don't have the salt air problem.

Ditto the salt air problems.

We stayed at a park a couple years ago, but I can't remember the name of it.

It was right near the entrance to the naval air base.

We were there for a couple weeks. It was a nice park.
