Quartszite in January 2012

Anybody planning on being in Quartszite in January? We will be going for the first time and would not mind hooking up with other owners. We will need all the support we can get boondocking for an extended time that we can get.

Is there an area that other owners congregate to?

We plan on arriving mid January hopefully before the RV show.

We will be there but we stay in an RV Park. Holiday Palms RV Park. We'll be there 1-24 -1-31 during the Sell-O-Rama. The RV show is nothing like it used to be.

First time you will be amazed. We go down every year. We have a place 8 miles south of town. Yep, Quartzsite isn't like it use to be. One time there more then 250k people there, last few years less than half that. Still it's the biggest thing in RV world going on. You will find people scattered all around town. Anywhere you park you'll get to know them. Question. Are you dry camping or do you want hookups? If hookups, you better get your site reserved now. Dry camping.... There are two good ones just south of town that are safe and can get you in cheep. No need to do a advance reservation. It's a fun town with lots to do. See you there. Quartzsite still has the largest population change. Summer they have 3000 people living there and i the winter 100k plus. In town they have places to see and do. Plus wifi at McDonalds and the library.

We plan on dry camping. Hopefully we can get by with just running a generator for a few hours each morning to recharge the batteries. We plan on being outside most of the time anyway. We will probably go to the LTVA area south of town. We will not get there until just before the RV show Jan 21st. Hopefully we can still find a place to park. Looking forward to meeting others and enjoying the desert.
