Vanity slide leaks
Good Morning everyone, my wife and I have a 2017 Mobil Suite 38 RSSA, we are on our annual Christmas trip to California to visit the grandkids.
We haven't encountered much rain on any of our trips until this past week and it hasn't stopped.
Getting to the issue, we woke up to a wet rug in the bedroom next to the Vanity Slide, water was running down the wood under the drawers onto the rug on both ends.
Has anyone else had an issue with this slide? All the others are fine, no leaks.
Thank You
Papaducky.

We haven't had that issue on our 16 Atlanta, but I would put out our main awning about 6 inches or so to help keep the water away.
Are your seals fully deployed?
Joe

Perhaps you can arrange to get up for an inspection, or stop by an RV place and ask them to inspect. It is amazing what you'll find when you get into the areas not usually subject to public view.

You can't put slide toppers over the vanity slide. No room.

That was last summer at my folks lot in Indio, CA. They let the grass die for the Summer.
There was a secret message as to why mine does not leak besides no rain......

Can't offer advice with your issue other than check the slide seals as already mentioned. I can say while in MN this year we had a day of 22 hours of rain and had no leaks.

Looks like Cummins doesn't put the slide out.....because he doesn't have one.
But I would leave it to DRV to figure out how to get a slide to leak even tho there isn't a slide...

I have a 38RSSA 2015 and had the same issue. Turns out the rain was weeping in on the cables and running inside through the hole in the seal. There should be a piece of rubber that the cable goes through glued to the main seal. If this piece of rubber has loosen or the top of it is pulled away, the rain will run right in along the cable. I found it when shining a light behind the slide from the inside and seeing the cable wet and dripping; then looking on the outside to find the rubber pieces completely slid out to the exterior trim. My fix was applying rubber silicone to the rubber pieces and pressing it back in place on the rubber seals. I let it cure before closing the slide and they have not released. More importantly, I have not had anymore wet floors. It was very surprising to see such a small problem causing such a big wet problem.

Thank You Charlie Brown, I checked those, but the water was coming out of the floor of the slide, I think I found a spot on the top flange that had a bunch of debris from the factory and it tore the tape the seal the flange to the top.

Hi, we think we found the leak, anyway I hope so. There was a cut in the seal between the top of the slide and the outer flange. It almost looked like the factory used 2 pieces of sealer tape. The dealer covered it with a wider piece of rubber roof repair material. Not sure how to attach a photo.
