My first leaky roof

Went up to the bedroom to get my slippers out of the closet of our 327RES Cougar. There is a shelf on the drivers side on the closet. The carpet was wet, not damp, but only the floor. Carpet in the corner that goes up a ways was dry. The wetness extended to the closet door tract and about a foot towards the center of the closet. Sopped up with a towel and then put a fan blowing on that area. By evening it was dry to touch.
Went on the roof today but the cap is well sealed and no cracking-just smooth. I’m on the road so I’ll get deeper into it when I’m home in a week or so.
Does anyone have any other ideas where to look?

Running lights on front cap? Check grommets for sealing tight, silicone if loose.
Look real close on seal of cap to body for missing silicone.

Had you been traveling, perhaps ran the bedroom slide in with water on the top?

That does happen, at least to me, often enough that I try to raise the front high enough to cause runoff before putting slides in.

I’ll check the roof and next time we’re out and it rains I’ll keep an eye for water getting in from the slideout. Thanks for that clue.

leak in closet

I have the exact same camper and had the same problem. I carried it to camping world and after 2 months they said it was a seal on the roof that was cracked. not sure if it was the roof or end cap. I have not used it since so I'm not positive it is fixed.

There and on the slide outs where the top meets the slide out front.

new/old camper guy

Just looked on line and seems to be several "kinds" of Eternabond. Which one would y'all use for this application?

I suggest using the tape where possible...the self-leveling is for use only on horizontal surfaces, don't use on vertical surface. Take a look at the YouTube vids on how to use it, then follow them exactly. Once placed on a surface, it isn't coming back off. Cleaning before placing is critical, then using a roller to push it down evenly works well.
If there is a window near the wet spot, check around it carefully for full seal, clean drain holes in bottom of frame.
