Hehr window repair

We finally had enough of looking thru fogged windows....had the 2 large dining side windows and the large rear window fixed yesterday....so nice.
The repairman travels from the Phoenix area to Yuma every couple of weeks and usually has a full appointment calendar to make his trip worthwhile. He is neat, quick, and pleasant to deal with...his work is warranted for 3 years. He takes the window out, replaces the seal, cleans the glass, and re-installs....the 3 windows took him about 3 hours. Cost is $80 per window, large or small.

So he is separating the dual panes and resealing them on site? $80 each is pretty fantastic!

Heck you may pay someone that much to just replace the glass.

They did my rear window while here in Mesa for $100. I was very happy with the results. They did a great job.

He cleans, installs new seals, he said vacuum seal is not standard/necessary on RV glass.

"Hope it works well for you!"...I'll let you know after the 3 year warranty expires, which appears to be hands down, better than the manufacturer: Hehr Warranty.

FYI, I did not see any mention of performing a vacuum of the air space between the glass, in any part of Hehr's service manual....maybe I missed it, or....maybe they too regard it as unnecessary: service manual.

I have watched windows being sealed at the Milgard Factory. Not sure what it was called but they had some type of machine hooked to each window as they sealed the edges of the sealed unit.

Sounds like a great deal if they stay sealed.

Gemstone, thank you for posting the Hehr Service Manual. Good information to have!

I had Auto Glass boss do my rear window last year. They did a good job, or so i thought. My rear window is fogging up again, showing moisture between the glass and its only been a year. We are in the RGV this winter so can not go back to them.
