Replacing carpet & vinyl flooring.

Has anyone replaced the carpet and vinyl flooring in their 5thwheel with hardwood or laminate flooring from home depot?

If you have flat floor slides I think it would be very difficult because the carpet over laps when the slide goes out and down. I seem to remember a discussion of this on the SKP forum. Go there and do a serch.

Had a 5er that had carpet all thru the bathroom that needed to be replaced. I cut out the carpet and the pad, then spend about 1 hour removing the tiny staples that were left that held down the pad. I washed the wood floor, made sure it was clean and then installed the peel and stick vinyl flooring. It looked fantastic and when we were done, started to figure out how to do the rest of the bedroom. I have to believe the biggest problem would be removing the carpet that was under the slide. We ended up selling that trailer and replacing it with a much newer one,so never got to see how it would work.

Yes, I know someone who replaced the flooring in the bathroom and kitchen. Be careful though, your slide may have to come over carpet if that is how it was built to begin with. Most flush floor slides have to have carpet to roll over. Check with your manufacturer if you are not sure.

We just finished installing Vinyl flooring (peel/stick) throughout our trailer all teh way up to the bedroom where we installed new carpet. ALOT of work but looks incredible. We removed the bench on one side of the table and the attached shelve (used for a TV) to open up the area. We also put up a chair rail and oak looking Wainescoat to the walls. I included a picture. Alot of fun and the whole family helped to include my 11yo putting down the Vinyl with mom's guidance!!
