I have always jacked my trailer up with a bottle jack placed under the spring mounting plate--have done this many times. The problem with jacking on the axle is when the jack is placed too far inward on the axle housing--the closer toward the middle of the axle, the leverage increases to the point the housing can be bent. There have been times that I haven't had the clearance to place the jack under the plate and placed it just next to the plate on the axle itself.
If you have enough jack stands, it is easily possible to use those mounting plates to get the clearance to place the jack stands under the frame and have all 4 wheels off the ground at the same time--but you have to raise it enough to allow the axles to drop as far as they can before placing the stands. I wouldn't do but one side at a time if using jack stands. Those units having the 6-point leveling systems routinely raise the trailer high enough to get the wheels off the ground without damage.
Does your trailer have the auto-leveling, or just the front legs/rear stabilizers?
Joe

Mine has landing legs, rear stabilizers, and two level up jacks, one per side.
Thanks for the helpful input.

I think you are saying you have the Lippert Level-Up system--in that case, use it to raise both wheels on one side off the ground. If you visit any RV show, you will see this being done with all 4 wheels on many of the units. Shouldn't be a problem.

Never thought I could do that without damaging something. Might try it sometime.

Rick, sounds like you're well on your way with the rotor/bearing replacement. As a suggestion, whenever I have jacked up the wheels on our rig I've placed blocking beneath the frame close to the wheel and jacked up at that point. The blocking helps distribute the load across a larger area as oppose to concentrating it on one point. Food for though???

Hoping to catch up with you in late Nov. when passing through.

Thanks Roland. How high did you have to move the trailer to get the wheels off the ground?

I have the MorRyde IS suspension system on our rig. If memory serves me right, (remember I'm a Senior) I jack up about 3"-4" inches and the wheel clears the ground enough to remove it. The type of suspension system you have will make a difference in how high the rig has to be jacked up for the wheel to clear enough to remove it.
