In viewing your post, there is a quick reply box below it--I am typing in that one just now. Below the box is a tab labeled "go advanced"
Click on "go advanced" and another reply box will appear with a line for title --you have to put something in that line-- and than type your post.
Farther below is a list of several options--one is 'manage attachments' --click on that one and you will see an option to find your file/picture. Probably best to downsize your pic below trying to upload it to the post.
Check all this out and see if you need more help--I am not that great at doing it
either.
Joe

If you need more help, post back and we'll try again.

Curt Q24 hitch to RAM OEM mounts

Trying to install my Curt 16047, Q24 on OEM mounts but I'm having a problem removing the ball hitch in the middle of the bed. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Glad to help. On the ball/shaft in bed--get some PB Blaster rust dissolver and spray liberally all around the ball getting it to go under the flange and down the shaft. Lot of spray, wait about 30 mins, bang on it with a hammer, and try it again. Do you have any way to grab the ball to get leverage on it with a bar of some sort? It is rusted in place.
WD40 prob won't do anything to help, use the PB. Be nice if you had access to an overhead crane/lift/engine lift. Should brake loose with some persuasion.
Joe

Almost forgot--check to be sure the keeper bolt is not in place....there is a bolt of some sort that goes thru the shaft and the release in usually in the driver side wheel well.

Joe,
I live in Hawaii and a friend of mine in Washington State is trying to help me. He states the the ball can spin around but he can't find any release lever in the wheel wells (DS, PS, under the bed rails). Any other ideas?
Thx,
Lloyd

Joe,
Singing the praises of YouTube. Found a segment on YouTube for a RAM specific Draw Tite Hide A Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch on a 2016 RAM 2500. Ball removal is a breeze with the unlocking mechanism in the ball itself. Ingenious!
Thanks for your help.

Glad you got the problem solved, Lloyd. And, welcome to the forums.

Another way of adding pictures is to sign up with a free hosting site such as Photobucket where you can first post pictures. Then, once they are posted, one can click on that thumbnail at the site and find the "IMG" link and click on it or copy it. Then, it is just a matter of pasting it in the body of the text of one's comment.

Update. The ball releasing mechanism is frozen. Tried penetrating oil, hammering lightly, chiseling to get arms to lift. Nothing seems to work. Will try a propane torch next to see if we can break the oxidation. Last resort would be to cut the hitch off. Getting desperate because I have to be in Fairfield, CA by Noon Friday to pick up our new to us 2007 38' Elite. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
