Electric over Hydraulic Brake Actuator Meltdown

On my last trip in November, I noticed that brakes were not doing a very good job stopping. When I got home I noticed lots of brake fluid in compartment behind the sliding doors where plastic actuator is located. Dealer just replaced my all plastic unit with an all steel unit. Dealer told Double Tree about the brakes and they said they bet it was a total meltdown. Factory already knew there was a problem with these actuators and just did not bother to mention it. I am just mentioning this so fellow RVers can be on lookout for failures. They did not spectulate on what the cause was, other than it looked like it melted from inside unit. I do not know what the brand is on the new unit, but think old model was a Carlisle. I try not to hold my brakes for extended lengths of time when sitting at red lights and I am currently using the built in Ford brake controller.
