Dining Room Slide Carpet Sag

I can not take credit for this fix, it was first done by a friend in their TK3 but it sure makes the carpet lay smoother and look better.

I cut a filler strip of 1/2" plywood 3/4" wide to fit the slot under the carpet, then cut a piece of 1/4" thick plywood 3" wide to lay on top of the filler strip.

I made the filler strip run the full length of the track and stopped the top piece a few inches short of both ends so that the carpet would lay more naturally.

I cut a taper on the leading edge to help the carpet lay smoother, then screwed the top to the bottom filler.

I also made it in two pieces so that it was easier to pull out and transport when traveling.
