Newbies!

Hi All,

We're a small family from southern Oregon - Melanie, John and our daughter Sage (who is now 6 months). We've been living in a one-room apartment and decided to look for a 5th wheel to live in full time so we can take our home with us to visit family (we are from opposite coasts), or to wherever sounds interesting while Sage is still little.

We signed up in hopes to get some advice and help regarding buying a 5th wheel, and of course for support and a sense of community after!

If that is Sage in the avatar--she is just adorable...

With your small family, a fifth wheel can be a neat deal to live in, IF you have enough vehicle to tow it when you want to travel. So, time to do some research to see what is available in your price range, then figure out what you would need to pull it. Lots of info about this selection process in many of the forums. Do NOT buy a truck until you know what you will end up with for a trailer.

Best of luck in your quest.

Joe

Welcome! You'll find lots of people on this forum who have been in your shoes in the past. Joe's advice is exactly right. Do a lot of research before you buy your rig. Be sure to have enough truck for what you are wanting to pull. A lot of people run over-weight. Not only does this stress your truck's suspension but, more importantly, it can really limit your ability to stop your rig.
