5th Wheel Hitch

Hello all, I am needing some advice. I am needing to buy a new hitch for our 5th wheel and not sure which one to get, I have looked at several but I really like the Anderson Ultimate Hitch but not sure it will hold my weight.

My DVR 5er weighs about 24k empty so what hitch would recommend I look at for that heavy a rig?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Dave

You have a DRV that has a gross weight of around 26-27k? What are you pulling it with?

Ok, looked at DRV site--your GROSS is 24, not dry weight. Whew!!!
Nice trailer, wish I had one.

This is the hitch I had and loved it. http://www.trailersaver.com/product/...ir-ride-hitch/
I would think you might want to look at something along this route.

Thanks Stripit, I watched the video and I found a dealer close so I will head over and take a look in person. Thanks Wingnut60, we love it so far. We looked for a long time and decided that was the one but I wish it was not so heavy. I am a little confused by GROSS instead of dry weight? I think I understand but would like to be sure I know because I am still pretty new to the RV life.

Dry weight is weight out of the factory. Gross is after you load it with all your stuff. I'm with Stripit, I love my TrailerSaver!

Thanks oldbird, I thought that about gross vs dry but so I appreciate clarifying it for me. Sometimes I think I know just enough to be dangerous...lol

Appreciate your input on the Trailersaver also, seems like a great hitch.

You bet, the trailersaver got rid of all the 'chucking'. I used to have a Travel Supreme and it would hit real hard down on the pickup on certain bumps and the trailersaver took all that away.

We have had our TS3 for almost four years. We live it! It hasn't given use any trouble and the ride is amazing.
