If it's a two door that would be replacing a 8 cu. ft. Oh and the large fridge is a 13.5 cu. ft. not a 12.

Hi, did you have to move the sink island to close the off door slide? What Dometic did you replace, 8 CF or 12 CF. I don't mean to hijack the slide but this is the first I have heard of someone putting a residential in a TK3.

It is a two door side by side and when slide is in only the fridge side will open. I have thought all along that the island could be moved but I see above where wingnut said not and he is pretty much right on this stuff.

From what I understand, the island CAN be moved, but not the L-shape peninsula.

Hi Narnia,
I don't know it was a replacement for a 8 or 12 cu ft, it is counter-depth, 17 cu ft and allows about 2" clearance when slide out is in. We use a cushion on the door when traveling just in case.
The model number or similar is: Fisher Paykel RF170WDRX5N

It was in the camper when we got it 2 yrs ago. I assume it replaced an 8. The fridge is totally accsesable with slides in. It looks like it fit right into the same space. If you want a pic let me know.

Paul Cross in Indiana put a Samsung two door bottom freezer in my TK3 and said he only had to move the L shaped out 1 inch. Its very close when the slide comes in but you can still access the right side of refri with the side in. We love it! Pulls two amps and about 170 watts so is friendly to the batteries.

By the way, mine is a Sansung 18 cubic foot, they call it a French door model. The model number is RF18HFENBSR.

That's the same one I installed in my Monaco MH when the Norcold 12 cu. ft. didn't cool good.

Its a real nice refri, the only complaint my wife has is its elevated up higher because of the way its mounted on the bottom. So, out comes the step stool for me to trip on! lol

Hi Jim RU 100% on that. I was thinking that under the bottoms in the cabinets under the sink I would find some lag screws holding the whole L to the floor. I just re floored and thought about cutting out the bottom of the cabinets but I got laxy and whimpped out.
