Oven/cooktop
Our '05 MS was ordered without the oven, just the cooktop. We are headed to Paul Cross's place next April and will get the oven/cooktop installed. Are there any choices except the Magic Chef and Amana units?
And of those 2, any preferences?
Never paid much attention to this before, as we always took what came with the trailer--now we can maybe make a better choice?
Joe

I have no experience with them, but there is another brand called Atwood. Others will have to tell you if they are good or not. However, to let you get started with research, here is a website:

So, there are 3 brands of cooktops/ovens in the market--Atwood, Amana and Magic Chef.
It is almost impossible to get to actually look at some of the models available, most are ordered in when needed. Anyone have experience with more than one brand, and are there 'Chevys and Cads' in the same brand lineup?
Thanks,
Joe

Range Oven
Joe,
This junk 09 I have came with only a stove top and I've got to have my biscuits and gravy when I'm off grid.
I purchased an oven range from an aftermarket supplier and installed it myself. I'm pretty sure it is an Atwood but I'd have to go out in the trailer and look tomorrow. I'm not sure but I think they are all made by the same outfit. There isn't ten cents difference between the 3.
They all work pretty good.
As always good camping
Jerry

Jerry,
Thanks, my wife is getting tired of not having a regular oven. And ditto on the B&G...
We are going to get one put in, just trying to find some more out about what is available.

We ordered our 2010 Mobile Suites without the oven, we never used the gas Oven since our first Micro/convection came out. Delaine makes perfect biscuits in the Convection oven. The outdated gas oven pilot lights would never work correctly. But again its a choice.. We will for sure go with the Convection oven in the stick house as soon as the microwave goes out... And until the RV components are updated we want have a RV with the gas oven.... Happy Trails.....

The Amana I got with 2010 MS is not my idea of quality. Gaskets broke on oven door before 5 months, gromets that hold range grill broke at 17 months. Camping world sells this brand I saw one at Lazydays in Tampa 2days ago. Don't know about others but the one in my 74 HR was 30yrs old and didn't have any problems. Don't know brand thouugh.

Nancy uses the gas oven all the time and does not care for the convection that we got installed. It is just a microwave to us. Getting an oven stone made all the difference in the world in performance of the gas oven.

Just visited freinds with a 2000 travel supreme, their magic chef range tops grill seemed much more substantial than our amana and grommets were intact and had never been replaced. they had same gaskets on oven door.

Thanks to all.
We have an Amana cooktop, wanting to put in the oven. Sure is hard to get to see any samples in person.
