No, the ACs work just as in the house, but each AC has its own sensor for temps. The bedroom is a much smaller area than the living room, thus easier to cool/keep cold. The main living area AC has to cool a larger area and usually works harder/longer to get temps down.
As it gets warmer outside, sometimes the bedroom needs to be used to supplement the living area to keep it comfortable.
