I went the other way.. went to Lowes and bought stair risers and deck boards, had them cut the deck boards to 24", Bought a piece of 24x24x3/4" outdoor plywood for a deck on the top. and a box of deck screws. I ended up with 4 steps up to a deck at the top. I use a pallot for a ground level 'porch'. The assembly slides onto the original stairs without attachment and are narrow enough to slide inside the door when the slides are in. Total cost with a coat of paint... 58 dollars. Now I am making some hand rails for them.
