Four steps is probably the better way to go...for the difference in initial price all manufacturers should offer this option I think.
Another sore point with me is how shallow the very 1st (bottom) step is.
All these trailers have doors that open out, it is hard to open that door and stand on that 1st. step at the same time.
You have to lean back, out of the way of the opening door, while standing on a narrow (shallow) step.
Shorter folks have difficulty reaching the door catch when standing on the ground.

Newmar actually offers a balcony that extends out just for that reason.
