Could be a few various reasons, tire sizes/wheel sizes, or they are trying to get the trailer to ride level with the truck. So in some cases spacers are added to the suspension or frame work to raise the trailer up to ride level when hitched to the newer trucks. For some reason the truck manufactureres are thinking tall bed trucks are better??
