We had some bad tire wear recently on the rear axle. Tires were date code 0405 and I knew I should have replaced them but....one blew in Atlanta 3 weeks ago and a second in Ocala before we could get the new tires in!

Once I got new tires on and balanced I took the trailer to American Frame and Axle in Tampa and nhad the axle allignment checked. It was way off, both camber and track. Front axle was heading one way and the rear the other. They ended up pulling both axles out and re-bending to optain correct camber and re-installed and set up track.

All thwe final numbers were good. They used laser equipment used for large trucks and trailers. Went on each wheel and a rig on the pin box. Pretty neat deal.

Was only $70 to get it checked, to fix it was a total $600. Not bad since there were 2 guys on it for 6 hrs and set up the equip twice. Huge press to fix axles.

They are very experianced and know and do a ton of RVs and boat trailers too. He told me these days, the axles are way out on most trailers, right out ot the factories. Hum.....
