Again I want to thank everyone for your help, I was easily able to change out the check valve on the back of the Hot water tank. I used PB Blaster (The best stuff there is) on the old fitting... waited for a bit, then used my deep socket wrench and off it came.... The old fitting was clogged so bad there was no way to save it so I buried it in the bag of trash. I had already flushed the tank out yesterday so within 30 minutes I had the entire chore done. But...... putting the hot water hose onto the fitting was a bit difficult, because the piping is flexible, but still stiff, but I asked for help from above and on it went. Again thank you all, this job would have cost me a service call of 125.00, plus parts and labor, and more days without hot water than I care to think about. My cost 4.95 and 1.97 for teflon tape. Thank you! I hope that our summer will be peaceful and enjoyable and your's too.
