"drill a hole from the small cabinet on the left to the middle cabinet"...

I only have 1 - 16" opening (18" inside) equipment cabinet to the left of the TV space, and since I've upgraded TV's, I'm taking up that entire space...so that just leaves the 1 cabinet for me to work with.

The trouble I see with a sound bar is...where to put it....most are 3'-4' wide.

In our case, the desktop is home to my wife's 2 monitors and her keyboard she uses for work, no room there.
