The only thing to draw that much power is close to a dead short in the system on the Xantrex side. It could be in the auto switch not disconnecting the 110v output fast enough when hooking up to shore power causing feed back. Be sure to manually turn off the Xantrex before connecting to shore power and see if that helps. I have known of 3 Xantrex to go bad under warranty, have it checked out.
