Well, there are only two ways to visually inspect, pull up the carpet, or look from under the coach. I would opt with the under look first. I have cut many holes into the bottom for various repairs over the years. I would use a razor knife and cut a 3 sided flap, keeping the uncut side towards the front of the rig. Make it as large as you need to be able to fit inside, I made mine about 2.5ft x 2.5 ft. When I was done with working up under the trailer, I used wood 3 pieces cut 2.5 ft long, about 2 inches wide to use as a screw in ledge to screw the flap back up to. Put 1 inch screwed into the uncut panel, over lap the opening and screw the cut flap into the wood. Then used a high quality duct tape to tape up the seams. Sealed up tight and no water intrusion.
