A lot of units that I camp by have this option--the noise level IS higher and you can really notice it on some of them when outside.
Also, be aware of the high temp/low temp limitations on air-to-air heat pumps as the performance drops off as the outside temps approach >95d and <40d. Read up on them, or talk to someone who has them to see how they like them.
Lot of them out there now...
