That is a touch high. You should be holding at 13.8 max. That is the max voltage my converter charges the batteries at. I think you might want to get the inverter checked.

Just a thought also. Does the voltage stay the same after the batteries are peaked or does it drop? How old are the batteries and what is their condition?
