Did you try turning OFF what you turned ON to get hot water to see if that stopped the fw tank from filling. There should be a valve between the pump and the fresh water tank for winterizing but you could shut that valve off to stop water from going to the tank. There should be a check valve in the pump that stops water from flowing back through it.
