Do you mean a 3500?

It should be roughly GM's version of the F350 in capacity. It would be a significant step down in capacity from what your sig line shows now.

Yes, I meant the 3500--sorry about the typo. The 550 has been in the shop so much I'm about to get worried about going very far.

The Chevvy 3500 is not rated to tow most DT trailers, only Ford F350 is marginal. If the Chevy would pull my Mobile Suites 38RL3 I would be driving one instead of a Ford. Chevy or Dodge just don't have the capacity.

My 3500 D/A does a very good job.
17500lbs
3500-3600 at pin.
I tow and stop safley and legaley so do not wish to get
into pissing match about weights.

I do not agree that a 3500 dually is too small for any DT trailer. I am well within the weight limits.

I'm very happy with the comfort, stability, pulling power and stopping power towing our DT. This is my third Duramax and none of them has been to the dealer since I purchased them. First one now has well over 100K miles, second one was traded in at 45K miles on the 3500 and I now have 44K on it. It's been coast to coast twice so far.

On a side note, I would not pull what I have without disc brakes on the trailer.

Tow capacity is all in the data suplied by the manufacturer of the tow vehicle and trailer. Between that and actual scale data from weighing the rig a determination of compliance can be made.

My d/h is thrilled with his 3500 for pulling & stopping our 38RLS. Adding the airbags to the 3500 and that Allision transmission made driving and pulling the 5er a dream. IHO
