Sewer hose storage

How many of you Everest owners find the itty bitty compartment on the side too small for a 20' hose?

I added a 4" PVC pipe across the bottom of the trailer right by the drain and the 20' hose fits in fine with no other issues, no forcing it into that small compartment and leaving the residue in there either...

Anyone else have good ideas for modifications?

Hi Scot,

I agree with you the hose storage is inadequate. I finally gave up on trying to stuff it into the small hole and at the present keeping it in a plastic Rubbermaid type box in the front storage area. I also thought about using a PVC tube under the trailer. I would like some details on how you are securing it to the trailer. Did you have to take loose the underbelly? Did you use self tapping screws? What kind of brackets did you use? Did you put any drain holes in the tube?

For the most part, we love our Everest. We try to go out about once every month or 6 weeks. We have had ours since September of 2004 and have got over 10,000 miles on it.

I used PVC drainage type pipe that had the holes already in it, I used a drain type grate on the sealed end and a screw in cap on the end by the sewer drain. I used metal pipe strap (strap with holes about every inch) and used self taping screws/bolts into the frame on either side of the pipe and snugged it up to the frame. 4 holes into the frame (2 for each end of the pipe) and it was a snap... I'll see if I can get some photos the next time I get the rig from storage.

I keep my 10' hose in the space provided and my 20' hose next to it in the hatch where the black and grey water valve releases are.

I just didn't want to have the sewer hose by the handles which would lead to messy situations just to dump...

I'm assuming that you wash off your sewer hose before you put it away.

AS a matter of fact I do but that still is not quite what I want to have to deal with each time I want to open or close the vavles.....

My compartment has enough space that the hose is pushed over to the left and does not interfere with the manual operation of the valves. When I need the 20' hose I reach in to the left and pull it out. Other than that it is never in the way.

I used 6 inch pipe and plastic gutter. The gutter is used to support the hose by placing 4X6x6 blocks underneath.

Well I used the standard 8' 5'X5" vinyl fence post, it comes without holes has end caps which can be hinged.
