The SeeLevel also has battery Monitor built in. It displays actual voltage on the LED display. We can now see what voltage the converter is charging at and tell what stage (multi stage charger) the charger is in.

Take a look at this site: http://www.datel.com/data/meters/20lcd-01-dcm.pdf Someone did a review and the install was pretty straight forward. Cost is about $30 unless you want different colors. I have been thinking about this for a while, but Have another goodie to buy first.
Hope this is what you are lookin for,

Being in the electrical field I would really like to find a monitor that also showed amp hours used and remaining as well as volts

CAMPDOG, take a look at this:

The nice thing about the Link 10 is that it is a 'smart' ammeter. It can predict based upon current power usage how long you will continue to have power available. I've been thinking about adding one to my rig.

Check this out.

If your battries are connected together, you won't be able to tell one from the other to do a check. Somehow, they will need to be seperated. What is the point. For the Xantrax price, you could buy another deep cell as a spare and switch back and forth.

I forgot. This Two Bank Remote Battery Monitor would be great for two sets of batteries. You would use this to monitor the charge for each set. At only $35.
