Just got an 2009 ram3500 mega cab with 6.7 Cummins 3:73 4X4, wondering what mileage I can plan on in rocky mountain states towing a 36' 16000lb 5er?

All depends on weight, frontal area of camper, your foot. No way to accurate answer you. Also the amount of stuff you carry. When I had the LDT we got less with the Teton, 21k, vs the DRV, 17k. Really if you have to ask, please forget it and enjoy yourself.

I don't know about the mileage, but you will be VERY happy that you got the Cummins to travel through the Rockies.

10 to 11 mpg will be real close.

Towing I get 12-14 depending on my foot. Empty I have gotten 21-22 from Delta Co. to Denver and back over Floyd Hill, Eisenhauer and Vail Pass.

Pulling my 2019 cedar creek champagne 38el I get between 9-11 running 70 with a 2017 ram dually has in Florida.

Generally, if you estimate your fuel stops, budget on approx. 10-MPG you'll be close. Sometimes a little disappointed, sometimes mildly pleased. Out west prevailing winds can play a major factor as opposed to relatively short road grades. Those wind-farms are there for a reason.

Happy trails.
