We have a 2014 38 TKSB Elite that has had a desktop warp TWICE since we purchased last June.

The third desktop is on order from DRV.

Does anyone know why this would happen?

We thought it might be the dry air in Phoenix.

We had that exact problem with our Select Suites. It happened in Tucson. It must be the dry air. DRV made us a new one and we had it installed in Elkhart. I think you are right, it must be the dry air. We got a humidifier for this past season in Tucson and have not had any further problems with the desktop.

We've kept a cool-mist humidifier on quite a bit in Dodge City this Winter. Have been using one for a few Winters now, since I get nosebleeds when air is too dry. It also works to keep the static electricity down.

I also bought a small monitor to watch the #'s.

Are you placing any heat generating device on the desk top....like a lap top computer ? The heat from mine caused the top to split at a glue joint....

Yes I had a laptop on it a lot. All day sometimes.

But wouldn't the heat cause the top of the desktop to expand -- not contract which it did.

But then heat causes the wood to dry out which would contract.
