I have the fireplace model and when I run the fireplace, it will cause the circuit to blow. I've tried to limit the things on at that time but still happens. The whole entertainment center and fireplace are on the same circuit and I can't have the fireplace on and watch tv also. Has anyone done a fix around this? Ideas please. Thanks rick

Yes mine would trip the breaker also, while it was still under warranty they added another plugin behind the fireplace and a new wire to breaker box. Now the fireplace is the only thing on that breaker. Works great. Good luck.............Ron

I have to dim the lights about half to stop mine from blowing.

Under the living room/kitchen slide are the electrical boxes for the power on tv wall. I had found bad connections on the wiring in mine along with water seepage. Bad connections will effect current flow and may be the cause of your problem. Make sure you unplug the camper before messing with the wires or you will have to change your name to sparkey!

Hi, do the fire places have a blower motor, or are they just radiant heat?
Thanks

They have a fan with a speed control, a temperature control for auto on off function, a light with a speed control to emulate "roaring" or "slow" fire.

They are made by Dimplex

ahh....factory engineering at it's finest.

It never fails to amaze me that the folks who build these things for a living will take an appliance rated at 1500 Btu's with lights and motors within and hook it up with another item on a 15 amp circuit.

separating that fireplace out or at least coupling it with low draw led lighting would solve a lot of these dilemmas.

I remember well the old days of those track lights over the kitchen of the 38's heating the wall switch up until you couldn't touch it and also smell it cooking inside the wall. How many of us reported that back to the factory for years before they addressed that little conundrum.

This fireplace issue has been mentioned to them for the better part of at least 8 years now.

Yeah it's true, but as long as they got their money up front it's not a factory problem......

So...here we have another item for would be buyers.....demand (be prepared for a "no" answer) a wiring schematic....might as well get a plumbing schematic too. No one builds without schematics, it's how designers convey their ideas to the engineers, it's how the engineers indicate to the line workers, how to build the design.

If they don't meet your reasonable expectations of logical standards, don't be shy, demand that they do it to suit you...after all you are the customer.

2006 was a bad year. Made much better as storage area. All I got from the factory was that they were wiring them differently after all the problems and the offer for a new plug and wiring to put it on it's own circuit.

We finally removed the fireplace and gave it to our son. He built a surround for it and put it in their bedroom. Then we had DRV fabricate double doors to replace it. Made much better as storage area.

Yeah, but they had all of your money by that point, correct ?

thanks for all the responses. Right now, we don't use the fire place much. We put a little space heater in that area and have it plugged in by the kitchen sink - which is on a different circuit. I did like the idea of removing it and putting in cupboard doors and making storage.

HA, I had to scratch my head for a minute on that one!

My wife would love to have a Fireplace but the storage is too nice to have. A little Vornado keeps us warm.
