Interested in some info from Carefree Eclipse owners. Does the movement of your awning ever require more than button pushing to extend or retract? I have a few problems that the dealer will be working on but one of the things the dealer and Carefree agree on is that there is nothing wrong with an awning that needs a manual push to get it going or finish retracting. Seems strange to me that extension of a power awning requires 2 people...one to push the button and one to pull on the awning arm. Is this something Carefree owners regularly deal with?

You are right, it shouldn't take a pull or push to get it going. Mine extens and retracts just by pushing the button. Mine however is not perfect. I have to guide the front arm into its resting position when retracting. I have a remote control so it is easy for me to stand there with the control and give it a little push sideways to get it to the right spot.

Thanks Redram. I talked to a bunch of Carefree owners and while a few seemed to work with only the push of a button, at least half required some type of manual intervention to extend or retract properly. I'd say your experience is typical or perhaps better than most. I guess its better than a manual awning but not by much. Hopefully when the dealer does get to mine (again) the end result will be perfect.

Update....after 4 visits to 2 dealers the best they can do is to get one side (the non motor end) to retract completely while the other side sits about 4-6" from fully retracted...Not sure how it bangs back and forth on the highway but if its a windy night, the banging of the awning against the rv will keep you up. I'm about ready to take it off. Talked to Carefree but all they say is take it to a dealer. I kinda think the product is crap. Wish someone could prove me wrong.
