My 2006 Suites has the Kenmore top load washer (Model # 11044182401) mounted on a pull-out tray with the dryer on a fixed mount above it.

Everything works properly except the spin cycle and after running the factory diagnostics test, it shows the belt below the tub is broken.

The problem is how to get the washer loose from the sliding tray so I can access the back panel.

The washer is mounted to the slider with 4 bolts. The front 2 are no problem, but the back 2 do not have enough clearance for a wrench and my forearm. I tried mounting the wrench to a long extension, but can't get enough leverage to put it on the bolt.

Maybe there is a way to separate the 2 sections of the floor mounted slider?

If anybody has managed to remove the washer, please let me in on your secret.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

While I don't have an answer to the specific problem at hand for you, I know a used dealer of DRV products that has installed the Sears toploader in some of the units they buy and then resell. They are a really nice couple, so you might try contacting them via their website and see if they can answer your questions.

They are out of Elk City, OK and their business is called Rolling Retreats. Here is a link to their website.

I have removed ours twice.

Our bolts use a 17mm wrench.

I use a combo box/open flat wrench. Remove the two front bolts, which after breaking torque, I was able to unscrew by hand.

The rear ones require pulling out the track and then use the box/open ends as needed to break the torque. Once part way out, I tipped the washer toward the outside wall allowing further access for my arm and hand to unscrew.
