Does anyone know what new changes are for the 2011 MOBILE SUITES?

At this time they are still building the 2010 models until the August time frame. They usually put out the new brochure some months later. Your best bet is to watch the DT website or have a chance to talk to a dealer that does a significant amount of business with them. DT hasn't been real good about showing previews of new changes in the past.

If nothing else you might just give them a call and ask if there is anyone who can tell you anything about the next model year.

I have asked one of the dealer reps at the factory about changes for 2011. The answer I got was that they did not know what the changes would be yet and they were concentrating on sales and production of the 2010 models. The other part of the answer was that DRV does not necessarily wait until the new model year to introduce changes but rather introduces changes as they come up with them.

Thanks for the replys Motor31 and BillA. It looks like if I order one in June it will be a 2011 and it would be nice to know what I will be buying. Thanks again

One thing new will be the water manifold, which is now made of copper. That is a good change. Wish mine was copper. GBY...

I would like to see the copper manifold in person. From what I have seen in the Facebook pictures, it may be slightly better than plastic but is not the quality that I would expect from DRV. There seems to be allot of crimp connections by use of PEX Tubing to attach the valves. I would like to see the manifold connections be brass or stainless up to the PEX tubing cross over This would not only be stronger, but allow ease of service on the manifold valves if needed. Again, just my opinion and I still give DRV credit for up grading to a copper body. Like to see a company that doesn't just accept the status quo in construction and and functional components.

Jo and I took delivery of our MS on May 7 and it has the copper manifold. I will try to attach a couple of pictures, but since I've never done that on a forum, it may not work. Should that be the case, PM to me and I can e-mail the pictures to you.

They are still putting the water pump on a wooden mount on the grey tank. That makes a great sounding board for the pump when you turn it on. Not to mention that the vibration of the pump causes the wooden "legs" to wear into the plastic. We had to isolate the pump on some foam insulation to quiet it down other wise it sounded like a jackhammer when it was on.

The copper looks like a cheap alternative to my all plastic unit. The hard water in Florida would eat up the copper in one winter. Really glad I don't have it. I do like the vertical mount so some of the stress will be taken off the PEX tubing. I have had one pipe to break due to being too short.

"One thing new will be the water manifold, which is now made of copper"....

After re-doing an entire house in PEX, I can say "It doesn't get any better than that". Copper is a thing of the past....IMO. PEX is easier to work with, not as expensive as copper, and should virtually last a lifetime...or longer.

On the rig, I have replaced as many hose clamp fittings as I can reach with PEX clamps. Looking at the photo, apparently the factory is starting to do the same.

I don' think there will be a lot of changes. In 2010 there was many changes and upgrades. I really don't think there could be very many things they could change.

I do wonder why they went to copper. But I do believe copper would last longer than plastic. Copper is so expensive is the reason everything went to plastic and of course it easier to work with plactic and PVC. Copper is being stolen around our area, now metal collectors have to be finger printed before they can sell. It got to were the low lifes were riping the electric wiring out of new houses. I do agree with the pex fittings etc.

When we ordered the 2010 the changes we made really took care of most of the things we liked. I do wish we would have deleted the window behind the TV its really not needed. Drv replaced our Samsung 32" LCD with a Samsung 40" LED and really did a superb job. The Samsung 32" was a mistake that we made when ordering the 5er. But in the end I guess Drv has to change something. Its for sure the Suites are awesome. All you have to do is walk in another brand and you can feel the difference. GBY...

Cindy, Are you leaving the water pump on while traveling? Just take the pressure off of the line so if it does leak then it will be very little. Just a thought.

This happens after we set up and hook up the water and the lines become loose and we don't know it : ( Hopefully they will find a fix this time.. Thanks for the reply
