Bedroom slideout leaking.

Since I've had the MS, when traveling (slideout in) I have had a leak that runs down the slideout and makes a fairly good size puddle on the floor. When hooked up and running front has about a + 1 to 2 degree up angle. Last night parked (slideout out) front was at about a -2 to 3 degree angle down. Good hard rain and it looks like someone turned on the hose and let it run. Carpet on just the slideout is soaked. The wall does not appear to be wet by look or touch. I got up there and the seals (APPEAR) to be in place and sealing. Was wondering if anyone else has had that problem and what they did to correct it. I do know that had I been level it wouldn't have been as bad but nothing I could do about it last night.

Check the rubber seals on the exterior on the lower corners, I had one turned in and was tracking water inside past the wiper seals. Compared to the fwd corner it was differnt.

Stopped my flood.

Another problem can be the window leaking on the glass seals and the frame. may have to pull it out to see.

At first I thought it was the seal as the inside was not tight against the wall. I moved the slideout in and water poured from the frame of the slide out. So I am assuming the water came from the window seal. Guess that will be my next project.

You might check for debris in the window track. When the window is up, it is open to the outside. Anything under it will prevent it from sealing and could allow water to enter.

Run a strip of duct tape to seal the wipers. Then spray it with a hose. That will get you an idea where the leak is.

We had a bedroom leak as well when the slide was out. It turned out the lower wiper seal was the culprit. There was a sizable gap where it met the side wiper seals. When we had the factory repairs done they re did the wiper seal all around the slide out. That stopped the leak. There is no inside bulb seal on any of our slide outs. The wiper seal is all there is.

I just had a leak last week, and it was obvious the water was coming in under the wooden window ledge on the rear window of the B/R slide. I assumed it was a window seal problem, and bought silicon caulk before looking at it.

Well, I got the ladder out, and found that only the top of the window was caulked to begin with, and I could see some areas of the side window seal were not making tight contact with the window wall. So, I re-caulked around the top and sides of the window, and so far, with some serious rain, NO WATER COMING IN!!!

That is the same situation I found on our rig. Not one of the windows or hatches had been caulked other than the top edge. Most had not even been caulked to the curved portion of the top edge. I spent a nice afternoon sealing every opening in the rig. I still have one window that will leak if a heavy rain is falling directly onto it. I guess I'll have to pull it to see why.

I thought I had this problem solved but inspection today after a rainfall showed we are again getting water onto the carpet between the bed and the rear wall of the br slide. It is enough water to soak the carpet and run under the bed frame and collect on the shelf at the rear of the underbed storage.

Previously we had this window caulked all around. We can see no evidence of water running down the inside wall -- it must be running down inside the wall. No problem when the slide is in.

I think I am going to have to pull the window to see if I can detect the path of the leak. I got a tip one time suggesting weatherstripping be glued to the roof of the slide on an angle to channel the water away from the lowpoint corners. Have not tried this yet but it may have some merit. Also considering wide Eternabond on the metal strip at the top.

Sam, have you had any success locating the source of leaks on yours?

I "Think" Mike had the solution at least for me. I use the term think because I have not had a hard rain since I had the problem. It turned out to be the lower wiper seal, the hard rubber gasket that goes over the channel. It takes a 32" seal/gasket and mine was about 1/2 inch short. A new gasket is being sent by Herr but in the mean time I stuffed a plastic sandwich bag in the gap and covered it with silicone.. If your gasket is long enough I would coat with a thin coat of silicone where it meets the sill.
