:) I was just wondering how everyone manages to inflate their tires on the 5er. I have made many stops at truck stops and re-fuel plaza's and they just have the machines that you put quarters into. With a tire that requires 110 pounds of pressure, most of these quarter machines are just not up to the task of providing that kind of air pressure. When you pull into some of the refueling stations that handle commercial rigs they sometimes don't appreciate recreational drivers pulling 5th wheel rigs. We are taking up their space and intruding in their business. This being said some of the larger stations like that don't appear to have air on them for refilling tires, what is a person to do?

DH checks and refills our tires as needed before we move the 5er. He uses a small compressor we carry with us. It doesn't take up very much room and is the only thing powerful enough to get to proper pressure.

:) Thanks for your comment. I handle the air situation ok before I leave ok. I just like to keep my eye on tire pressures while on the road. I was hoping not to have to go the route of finding room for an air compressor to haul along with me or go the route of the 12v to 120v converter to run said compressor but this is something that I just might have to do for peace of mind. Thanks for all and your kind comments.

A portable compresser is your best bet. In the mean time you might try going to a dedicated tire shop. I have found, the hard way, that truck stops often only go up to 100 psi and the tires on my trailer need 125. The tire shops seem to have up to 150 psi normally.
